Abstract

An interactive graphical user interface (GUI) package for the sizing of cables in building installation design, called CABSEL, is presented in this paper. The main purpose of this package is to replace the obsolete software programs previously used in cable selection with a user-friendly and interactive GUI program. In addition, this paper is also written to emphasize the impact of modern world technology in the field of electrical engineering. No longer is the cable sizing process a manual-intensive and tedious job. Instead, with the aid of CABSEL, cable sizing is now a relatively easy and simple task.
