A Hopfield network approach to economic dispatch with prohibited operating zones 具有禁止操作区域的Hopfield网络经济调度方法

This paper presents a Hopfield model to solve the power system economic dispatch (ED) problem with some of the units having prohibited operating zones. In the proposed method, the authors introduce an equilibrium point, lying in the interior of a prohibited zone, which will divide the prohibited zone into the left and the right prohibited zones referred to this point. In this way, in order to prevent the unit from operating into prohibited zone, they incorporate the novel countermeasures into the proposed Hopfield model. Through case studies of a system with 15 units, they prove the possibility of application of the Hopfield model to a practical ED problem mentioned above. Computer simulations manifest that not only this proposed model itself is much simpler but also its computation results are very close to those of the conventional methods.

Integration of SCADA and DA/DMS across a large distribution system 在大型配电系统中集成SCADA和DA/DMS

Successful economic management and operation of a large widely dispersed, mainly radial transmission and distribution network requires a high degree of flexibility in control. This flexibility is required without the loss of functionality if it is to meet the increasing customer demand for higher reliability. The integrating of SCADA and distribution automation (DA) systems is essential for maximum operating efficiencies and to be implemented cost effectively requires a highly flexible basic building block. An ideal system needs to be able to perform the simplest of distribution tasks while being capable of being networked in a manner which provides full SCADA functionality.

The continuous expansion of the Thai economy over several years has put the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) on alert to the more careful planning of the power operation, expansion and development of power technology. Demand for power both quantity and quality are increasing as customer operation becomes more sensitive to fluctuation and disruption. It is necessary for EGAT to improve power system reliability in order to meet all customer demand, both quantity and quality, which contributes to the nation's investment. The author discusses the electrical demand, generation development, transmission development, and operational control.

RTDS-a fully digital power system simulator operating in real time 实时运行的全数字电力系统模拟器

This paper presents details on the design, architectural features and applications of a real-time digital simulator (RTDS) developed at the Manitoba HVDC Research Centre (Winnipeg, Canada). Custom hardware and software have been developed and collectively applied to the simulation and study of electromagnetic transients phenomenon in power systems in real-time. The combination of real-time operation, flexible I/O, graphical user interface and an extensive library of accurate power system component models make the RTDS an ideal simulation tool with a wide range of applications.

Interior point method for hydro-thermal optimal power flow 水力热工最优潮流的内点法

This paper presents a new decoupling hydrothermal optimal power flow model and algorithm. Compared with Newton's method, the proposed method can cut down the requirement of memory more than 100 times. Moreover, computational time can be reduced enormously with system scale and hence it is especially suitable for large scale power systems. Simulation results on test systems, the maximum system of which includes 37,228 primal-dual variables, have verified the robustness and speed of the proposed method.

Voltage security enhancement using ASVG nonlinear control 利用ASVG非线性控制增强电压安全性

In this paper, the mathematical model of an advanced static VAr generator (ASVG) is developed. The nonlinear control strategy of the ASVG is proposed on the basis of the nonlinear control theory and the law is also applied in the study of enhancing power system voltage stability. The research results show that the voltage stability can be effectively improved and the voltage collapse can be attenuated efficiently with the nonlinear ASVG control system.

Measurement and analysis on the interrupting capacity of vacuum interrupter with different contact structures 不同触头结构真空灭弧器断流能力的测量与分析

In this paper, the interrupting capacity and arc voltage characteristic of a high voltage vacuum interrupter with different contact structures are measured. In addition, the design principle and arc extinguishing mechanism of various contacts are presented with thorough analysis. Single-pole with axial magnetic field contact and multi-pole with axial magnetic field contact have more prospects to be used in the medium high voltage region in China.

Efficient power factor improvement technique and energy conservation of power system 高效功率因数改进技术与电力系统节能

Power factor improvement is one of the techniques which helps in conservation of electrical power along with a number of other benefits. A number of different techniques can be used to improve the power factor. Different techniques give good results for different types of loads, but the technique which is needed to improve power factor for the power system of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Pakistan, with highly variable load conditions, is explained in this paper. The technique described in this paper is claimed to be the most efficient for the power factor improvement capacitor banks which are designed after computerized energy analysis on each load centre. This paper presents practical studies, performed by KEL (Khawaja Electronics Pvt. Ltd. Pakistan) who are the manufacturer of the FUJI Capacitor in Pakistan, WAPDA and ENERCON (Energy Conservation Department Govt of Pakistan), showing the benefits achieved.

Artificial neural network based hourly load forecasting for decentralized load management 分布式负荷管理中基于人工神经网络的小时负荷预测

Decentralised load management is an essential part of the power system operation. Forecasting load demand at the substation level is generally more difficult and less accurate compared to forecasting total system load demand. In this paper, multi-layered feedforward (MLFF) neural network is used to predict the bus-load demand at the substation level. The MLFF network is trained using the backpropagation (BP) algorithm with an adaptive learning technique. The algorithm is tested for two systems having different load patterns.
