Abstract

This paper derives simple computer-aided design (CAD) formulas of the components of silicon based radio frequency integrated circuits (Si-RFIC) by synthetic asymptote. The formulas include those for microstrip line, patch capacitor, and spiral inductor. These formulas are simple, accurate, with good physical insights and few arbitrary constants. Compared with numerical solutions, the average errors are less than 2%.
