Abstract

To facilitate the Northeast Asian Power Grid interconnection and the export of Mongolian renewable energy, a Geographical Information System (GIS) based assessment method of potential sites for onshore wind power farm is proposed. Firstly, taking into consideration all existing electrical and road infrastructures, this paper assesses the available areas for wind power development, and then wind resources and technological potentials are evaluated using the ranking method of weighted linear combination technique and GIS-based Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA).
