Smart Cities: Impact on the development of Urban Logistics

Abstract

Throughout the world, the city is the epicenter or natural point of the economy of a country. Not only do a large part of the population of a nation coexist, but also several companies. More than 10 years ago the term smart cities were born and now it sounds louder, becoming a key and fundamental piece in society, the economy and sustainability. One of the contributions is towards the sustainable development of different cities, with urban logistics a priority in the planning of land use planning and design, route optimization and the urban logistics chain to ensure that cities become smarter. This research aims to inform the concept of urban logistics and how it has led today's cities to be called smart cities, seeking that society meets all its requirements and needs, raising the quality of life of society and ensuring sustainable development.
