Acquaintance Rape Among Adolescents

Abstract

This article integrates the findings of a number of works which address acquaintance rape in adolescent and young adult populations. Social work is can be most helpful by empowering the victim or assailant through counseling to change the patterns which contributed to the rape, and may also serve in an advocacy role with schools, police, the medical community, family, and friends.
