Abstract
A novel directional multilevel method using waveguide eigenmode expansion for electromagnetic scattering problems is proposed. Due to the use of waveguide eigenmode expansion with PML, the proposed method is essentially a spectral approach to construct the directional multilevel algorithm. Compared with sampling-based directional multilevel algorithms, the proposed method gives people a better physical insight about the directional multilevel structure. Besides, this method links several classical concepts together in microwave engineering in a natural way. A numerical result is provided to validate the proposed method.
