Abstract

This paper proposes a new method for controlling permanent magnet synchronous machines with and without field weakening. It is proposed to use the Sequential Model Predictive Control technique with high-frequency injection and reference generation from the analytical solution of the Maximum Torque Per Ampere (MTPA) curve. The results show a better torque ripple and current total harmonic distortion concerning the Field Oriented Control technique in nominal conditions.
