Abstract

Here we describe the propagation of optical pulses produced by the FM-AM conversion due to fiber chromatic dispersion. The investigated optical link is composed of a standard single-mode optical fiber and a dispersion compensating fiber. Impact of dispersion compensating fiber on dispersion supported transmission with a binary signal at the receiver is presented.
