Abstract
Currently, the concept is being implemented at the collection and exposition site of Introduction Cultural Plants Laboratory’s of the Donetsk Botanical Garden (DBS), when aesthetically attractive economically valuable plants are exhibited as elements of expositions. As part of the open ground useful plants collection, tropical and subtropical crops that are involved in the introduction experiment account for up to 25%. A collection of food, medicinal, aromatic and fodder crops from the African, Indonesian-Indochinese, Chinese-Japanese and Mediterranean centers of origin is displayed in the ethno-exposition areas of the ornamental kitchen garden of the DBS. Various cultivation methods of 18 plant species range introduced in the DBG are combined, resulting in aesthetic effect achievement in a short time. The potential possibilities of using economically valuable plants in phytodesign and further use as a source of seed material and medicinal plant raw materials are shown. These display areas are of certain scientific, educational, utilitarian and aesthetic significance for various target audiences.
