Abstract

This paper aimed to apply the IPSO algorithm for optimizing the TCSC parameters as well as system parameters towards voltage stability enhancement. The case studies are performed on IEEE 14-bus test system. Since the role of FACTS devices is to control main power flows and hence the economics involved in congestion management are not focused in the simulations. Various operating conditions are considered to show the effectiveness of TCSC on power flow control in the network.
