Poesia, gênero e internet: as googlagens de Angélica Freitas

Abstract

The present article analyses poems published in the book Um útero é do tamanho de um punho (2012), by Angélica Freitas, who defines them as “googlages”. This denomination is a portmanteau that fuses the words google and collages. They refer to procedures of researching, selecting, cutting and pasting text fragments that circulate on the Internet for the elaboration of the poetic text. The three poems analyzed constitute exercises of critical reflection about the sexist or explicitly misogynist speeches, which intend to define and control what to be a woman means. To discuss this collage process, taking into account the gender implications, we use critical perspectives by Bakhtin (2012), Judith Butler (2013), Monique Wittig (2017), among others.
