Abstract
Introduction : Mountains represent a hostile environment for people, notwithstanding they have suffered a recent exploitation by individuals practicing adventure sports. Consequently, mountain accidents have experienced an exponential growth. A mountain specialized rescue team is then required, whom has evolved to the actual Aragon’s rescue model. Aim : To complete a bibliographic research about the current state of mountain rescue in Aragón as to find some aspects that could be improved. Methods : A literature search using data bases as PubMed, Cuiden, Dialnet, Scielo and Scholar Google, between January and April 2019. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established. Therms were combined by means of boolean operators. Web pages, libraries and experts on this subject were consulted too. Results : Diverse articles and books were analyzed, which content was presented in six different sections: team members, characteristics required from the healthcare personnel, role of the healthcare personnel, call reception and team response, rescue teams medicalization, and prevention. Conclusions : The Aragonese rescue model has a lot of options to improve its assistance, like making some guides for nurses official or innovating when it comes to prevention campaigns.
