Abstract

In the solution of volume surface integral equation (VSIE) for composite objects, how to enforce the continuity condition (CC) of electric flux on the open perfect electric conductor (PEC)-dielectric interfaces to reduce volumetric unknowns is investigated. It is found that to correctly enforce the CC, the equivalent surface current on both faces of the PEC should be distinguished. For this purpose, the combined field integral equation (CFIE) is proposed to model the open PEC part. Numerical experiments show that compared with the traditional application of the CC, the proposed method gives more accurate results.
