Abstract

The frequency converter is the most sensitive part in the variable-speed wind turbine generator system equipped with a double-fed induction generator (DFIG). The frequency converter is normally controlled by a set of PI controllers. In order to improve the response of DFIG when subjected to system disturbances, the best way is to tune the PI controllers of the frequency converter.
