Abstract

The European navigation satellite system Galileo is moving ahead. We describe the open service signal L1 OS transmitted from the satellites. Compared to GPS some new features are introduced: Binary offset carrier modulation, coherent adaptive sub-carrier modulation, pilot signals, and tiered codes.
