APPLICATION OF THE TEST METHOD – COMPARATIVE IN DESIGN PRACTICE. CASE STUDY – WOŁOMIN

Abstract

The aim of the article is to present how designers, during public consultations, use the potential of variant analyzes in urban design. Designers select strategically important places where it is possible to consider introducing alternative solutions. They separate the "healthy" tissue, stating that its condition is suitable for being left behind, use a variant model, and are able to present solutions that are objectively similar in quality to each other. In this work, the author will try to explain the importance of the variant design process. For this purpose, he will use the example of developing a local revitalization plan for the so-called "Old Town" of the city of Wołomin.
