Abstract

The criteria for selecting the optimal type of Wavelet analysis are analyzed to increase the accuracy of identification of non-sinusoidal voltage distortions, because this technique can determine the amplitude, frequency and time (duration) of the presence of harmonics in current and voltage signals. This information will be useful in assessing the technical and economic effect of the introduction of filter-compensating devices to determine the harmonics and reduce losses.
