Abstract
Different types of multiple input DC-DC converter has been proposed by number of researchers for the integration of more than one energy sources. The development of a suitable power electronic interface is very much essential for the integration of those sources with less component counts. The implementation of a novel dual input bridge type DC-DC converter for hybrid energy source integrationis discussed in this paper. The converter can accommodate two sources with single inductor and capacitor at the output side. The converter is well suitable for the effective integration of renewable sources like solar-PV, wind and other low voltage sources like fuel cells and battery banks etc. The Computer simulations of the proposed converter topology using MATLAB/ Simulink platform has been carried out and results are presented. An experimental prototype is also built in the laboratory environment in order to verify the theoretical results.
