With the increasing requirements of modern high-speed ships, new requirements are put forward for shipborne HF antenna. A novel embedded shipborne HF antenna is introduced in this paper. It adopts slot antenna array excited by stripline, which can be conformal to an existing superstructure of the ship. Through simulation, the input impedance real part of one antenna is greater than 0.01 $\\Omega$ and less than 1500 $\\Omega$ in the range of 7.5 ~ 30MHz. It has good horizontal omnidirectivity and horizontal directivity coefficient is greater than −4dB. Then a 1:160 scale model of array element antenna is designed, fabricated and tested.
