Abstract

This paper establishes a dq0 mathematical model to simulate the dynamic starting performances of a capacitor starting system. The model takes all the main parts of the capacitor starting system into account for the first time-including the transmission lines, the shunt capacitors and the motor. The model proposed in this paper can therefore be used to analyze capacitor starting systems accurately.
