Development of the standard source of 222Rn based on the uranium ore is described including research of uranium ore samples, their specific activity and radon emanation rate and optimization of the construction. The developed primary standard source provides stable 222Rn emanation, effectiveness and reliability of operation, safety of environment, available and cost-effective material generating 222Rn. The operation of the standard sources as a part of the State primary standard of 222Rn volumetric activity is described in the paper. Abstract
