Abstract

• Event queue ordered by event time-different from the queue that is being simulated • Events pulled out of the queue and " executed "-event execution may result in future events inserted in the event queue (e.g., a packet arrival event results in scheduling the next packet arrival)-information for performance analysis is collected as the events are executed • Real time vs simulation time • No real concurrency, i.e., no threads/processes used(!)
