Abstract

This paper discusses different approaches to modeling Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP). Modeling CFRP at fiber level has been studied, and the feasibility of homogeneous volume and thin layer approximation has been investigated. Finally, the simulation result for a WR90 waveguide with the proposed approximation is presented along with measurements.
