Informasi prediksi curah hujan bulanan merupakan informasi penting yang dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam pengembangan tanaman perkebunan diantaranya cengkeh dan kelapa dikota Sorong. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana performa single predictor dan indeks gabungan precipitable water, komponen angin zonal serta meridional terhadap prediksi curah hujan di Sorong,Papua Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode indeks gabungan precipitable water, komponen angin zonal dan meridional serta metode korelasi untuk menetukan lokasi prediktor terbaik, metode regresi linear sederhana untuk melakukan prediksi curah hujan, dan metode Root Mean Square Error untuk mengetahui metode terbaik yang dapat digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Indeks gabungan precipitable water dan komponen angin dapat digunakan sebagai prediktor curah hujan bulanan di Sorong Kata kunci: Angin Meridional, Angin Zonal, Curah Hujan, Precipitable Water, Regresi Linear Sederhana ABSTRACT Sorong, West Papua is an area in eastern Indonesia that has very beautiful natural beauty and has the potential to be managed as a tourism and plantation area. Monthly rainfall prediction information is important information that can be used as a reference in the development of plantation crops including clove and coconut in Sorong city. This study aims to find out how the performance of the single predictor and the combined index of precipitable water, zonal and meridional wind components to predict rainfall in Sorong, West Papua. This study uses the combined index method of precipitable water, zonal and meridional wind components and correlation methods to determine the best predictor location, simple linear regression method to predict rainfall, and the Root Mean Square Error method to find out the best method that can be used. The results showed that the combined precipitbale water index and wind component can be used as predictors of monthly rainfall in Sorong. Abstract
