Abstract

This paper proposes a method of intelligent network (IN) service design based on message sequence charts (MSC). First, in order to describe all kinds of conditions of messages of one entity, it presents a formal representation which extends the standard MSC. Corresponding to the representation, a message tree structure is also described. According to the operating flow and the requirements analysis of an IN service, we design the MSC-S (MSC for external behavior of an IN service).
