Abstract
A traceability tool is an asset to the supply chain, especially the food one. The supply chain involves various sources of data, which is essential for effective traceability. Hence, a traceability system should overcome the heterogeneous data integration issue. Therefore, this paper introduces an ontology that formalizes the traceability tasks and surroundings elements to exchange information. Thus, this article describes the main features of an Intelligent Traceability Ontology (ITO). This ontology represents the main relationships between traceability activities and the entities involved in these activities. Moreover, this modeling can be used not only for tracing and tracking product information but also for supervising the product's environment parameters.
