Abstract

Recently energy saving electric household appliances are required. In electric household appliances, a refrigerator occupies 17% of electricity consumption at home. Because a compressor motor was driven low speed mostly in a refrigerator, the energy conservation is able to achieve by improvement of motor driving efficiency in low speed drive. In order to achieve this purpose, we developed the brushless DC motor and the sine wave inverter for the refrigerator. In this paper, we show new motor drive technology for the compressor motor in high and low speed drive in order to achieve more improvement of total driving efficiency.
