Abstract

The Wizna Land Dietine Facing the Moscow Threat in the Years 1654‑1667 The war between Poland and Moscow was a turning point in the history of Eastern Europe. This conflict is an excellent moment to analyse the attitudes of Polish nobles towards a multitude of issues. Most of the hitherto contributions and articles have avoided the essential social issues of the conflict. This article sets out to research the attitudes of the Wizna land nobles towards various problems connected with the war, such as ways of financing the conflict, engagement in defence of fatherland, and general opinions on war and peace.
