Abstract

A new guidance law is proposed for infrared homing guidance weapon based on optimal control theory of structure stochastic jump system. The guidance law uses the line-of-sight angular rate measurement information and considers the target's maximum maneuverability. A simple and quick distance estimation algorithm is derived and the problem of infrared system distance estimation is solved. Simulation results indicate that the guidance law has the merits of shorter target-missing distance, smooth trajectory and small over-load compared with the proportional navigation and extended proportional navigation.
