Message from the CloudAM 2020 Workshop Chairs

Abstract

Welcome to the ninth edition of the International Workshop on Cloud and Edge Computing, and Applications Management (CloudAM 2020). The maturation of the cloud computing paradigm brought all kinds of applications to be deployed, totally or partially, in the cloud. Cloud research has been recently evolving to three different views: improve applications already running in the cloud, move applications to the cloud, and also making the distributed infrastructure suitable for new types of applications with different requirements. This includes applications that run in mobile devices and also internet of things (IoT) applications, which can require lower latencies or more processing capacity closer to the edge of the network, resulting in a distributed infrastructure that complements the centralized cloud data centres.
