Features of development of the border areas in the modern economic conditions (on the example of the Jewish autonomous region)

Abstract

Border territories of the Russian Far East are the most important resource of our country, development of which is associated with the special geopolitical situation of these territories, specifics of international relations and cross-border cooperation. Their close proximity to the Asia-Pacific markets is a strategic advantage. Significant consumption due to the high population level of neighboring countries is the prerequisites for development of effective international cooperation. The key features of development of the border territories of the Far East are considered. Separate public policy instruments are identified that determine the prospects for development of the border areas on the example of the Jewish autonomous region.
