Abstract

Iris recognition system is until now impractical to implement in real time environment due to the unfeasible processing time. Therefore, solutions are required to enhance the performance of an iris recognition system. Since pupil segmentation is one of the important tasks in iris localization procedure, in this paper, a technique to isolate the pupil boundary is discussed. We have proposed a new thresholding method based on the eye color map. This proposed method is experimentally applied to the CASIA database iris images and 100% accuracy is attained.
