Abstract
A multi-frequency portable bio-impedance measurement system used for whole human body and segmental body impedance measurements is presented in this paper. Digital signal processor is the core of the measurement system used for injecting alternating current into human body and also for sensing and analyzing the voltage developed in response to the injected current. Tetra-polar electrode setup is employed for bio-impedance measurement. Bio-impedance measurements are performed at logarithmic frequencies in the range between 18 kHz to 576 kHz. Impedance magnitude and phase show similar trend for whole body and segmental bio-impedance measurements.
