Abstract

Based on finite element in time domain analyses and field – circuit – motion models of two permanent magnets synchronous motors with eight, respectively four poles, the control of current during the motor starting and for speed increase, constant speed or speed decrease motor operations are investigated. The controls of phases and amplitudes of the stator currents through the rotor position, through the motor speed and through a combination speed – rotor position are studied. The values of the amplitude of currents correspondent to desired values of the motor acceleration, the optimal currents for speed decrease operation and the optimal currents with respect the efficiency during the motor constant speed operation, are evaluated.
