Abstract

This paper aims to seek a technological alternative for the use of urban solid waste with an emphasis on closed production cycles in Circular Economy and Industrial Ecology from the reality observed in Florianópolis, Brazil. In this regard, it analyzes data on waste management in Brazil and the city of Florianópolis including the costs of the current model and the economic potential of the circular economy, taking as reference other countries and models already consolidated. As result, the paper presents a platform proposal with a waste marketplace function as a facilitating tool for closed production cycles and better economic use of urban solid waste, presents the basic description of the platform and its functionalities and relates the proposal to the concept called Triple Botton Line.
