Abstract

A laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) is applied in many fields to observe moving particles or fluid which conveys them1. The field to be searched may be in the microscopic as well as in the atmospheric scale. Though there are various optical arrangements of the LDV, their essential structures can be classified into two main groups, i.e. the reference type and the differential (real fringe) type velocimeters.
