Abstract
A rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with frequency tuning capability has been developed. By introducing a metallic side wall with adjustable shorting tabs, the resonant frequency of a prototype DRA was tuned between 3.2 and 5.8 GHz. This configuration is amenable to dynamic tuning through use of PIN or varactor diodes.
