Reconfigurable multi-band scatterers for micro-sensors identification 用于微传感器识别的可重构多波段散射体

For the first time the use of RCS of multi-band scatterers is proposed for the remote identification of micro-sensors in a wireless sensors network. The next step will consist of connecting a specific multi-band scatterer to each micro-sensor and, to achieve simultaneously the remote measurement of a physical quantity (via the electromagnetic transduction principle) and the sensor identification (via the RCS of the associated multi-band scatterer). Part of this work is supported by the Project of “Pôle de compétivité” entitled Système Autonome Communicant En Réseau (SACER).

A novel next generation self adaptive smart handset antenna 一种新型的下一代自适应智能手机天线

In this paper we presented a novel technique of achieving simultaneous dual frequency tuning via a single variable capacitor. This technique will enable a smaller dual band antenna to operate over a pentaband range. It also allows individual bands to be tuned/optimised independently. Together with a control algorithm, the antenna will continuously sense its environment for any loading effects to achieve optimum matching in all conditions via a closed feedback loop.

A new type of array antennas fed by CPW for 60 GHz ISM applications 一种用于60 GHz ISM的新型CPW馈电阵列天线

This paper presents novel printed array antennas fed by CPW (Coplanar Waveguide) configuration with a corporate feed line on single layer that will be used to form an agile focused beam for the 60-GHz radio. This type of coupling eliminates the competition for surface space between the antenna elements and the feed network. Besides, the ground plane shields the antenna half-space from spurious radiation emitted by feed lines and active devices. The array antennas is designed on a high dielectric constant substrate (εr = 9.9), which demonstrates the feasibility of integration of such antenna structure into monolithic circuits. The array antenna is the key component in a smart antenna system used in a prototype of broadband wireless LAN system operating at up to multi-Gb/s.

The design of a sub-millimetre wave airborne demonstrator for the measurement of ice clouds and precipitation has been presented. Based upon the use of existing microwave instruments together with a new sub-millimetre wave instrument being developed by the UK Met Office, this new instrument suite will be used to verify the feasibility of the CIWSIR and GOMAS missions.

This paper investigates the performance of the single slot ring element for Ka-band reflectarray designs. Using the element rotation technique, two Ka-band circularly polarized reflectarray prototypes are designed and implemented, with different thicknesses of the substrate. The bandwidth is significantly enhanced when a thick substrate is used.

In this paper, a new H-guide antenna has been presented. The obtained results show that the proposed antenna can achieve approximately 12.0 dBi of gain at 9 GHz and has acceptable return loss from 8 to 10 GHz. Furthermore, the radiation patterns and insertion loss of the antenna have been presented and discussed.

A study for rotational symmetry of the aperture field on Spiral Array radial line slot antenna 螺旋阵列径向线槽天线孔径场旋转对称性研究

We calculated the azimuthal deviations varying slot parameters of Spiral Array RLSAs. The inner/outer termination angles of the slot array have little influence on the azimuthal distributions. The element spacing in the circumferential direction has a significant impact on the azimuthal distributions. When the element spacing in the circumferential direction is 0.58λg, the deviations are minimized to 4.5dB and 32deg. As above, the azimuthal deviations are determined not by local parameters but by global parameters.

Phaseless spherical near-field antenna measurements: Concept, algorithm and simulation 无相球面近场天线测量:概念、算法与仿真

A novel phaseless near-field far-field transformation algorithm for spherical antenna measurements has been presented. The algorithm expands the radiated AUT field distribution in spherical harmonics and the missing phase information is retrieved in an iterative manner from an additional amplitude measurement on a second sphere. The spherical phase retrieval algorithm has been verified using simulated near-field data of a patch antenna and showed good performance. The avoidance of phase measurements, especially at high frequencies, allows antenna near-field measurements with reduced constraints in terms of instrumentation and probe positioning accuracy.

A novel FSS has been presented that exhibits high selectivity of response compared with conventional FSS structures. The new FSS offers very good control of bandwidth, and yet it is based on a simple geometry that is easy to fabricate. Two design examples have been presented to demonstrate the concept. The structure has been analyzed using the full-wave mode-matching method and our results are in an excellent agreement with those obtained by CST MWS.

An X-band conformal array antenna designed for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles with polarimetric radars/sensors is presented. The array antennas mounted on the cylinder with various curvature radii are experimentally studied. The array can be easily placed on the aircraft fuselage or payload due to its ultra-thin and ultra-lightweight characteristics. It should have potential applications in radar surveillance, remote sensing, and wireless communications.
