Abstract

For reliable reception of weak signals, eigen-based signal combining algorithms are very effective. However, the algorithms involve a heavy computational burden. In this paper, a fast eigen-based signal combining algorithm is proposed by using the coordinate rotation digital computer (CORDIC) method. CORDIC can use addition and bitshift operations to replace the multiplications in the eigen-based signal combining algorithms. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm can reduce the computational cost while it provides a good combining performance.
