Abstract

India is one among the 14 countries that have a high burden of Multidrug Resistant-Tuberculosis (MDR-TB), thereby demanding robust clinical and diagnostic attention. This study explores the development of a plasmonic fiber optic absorbance biosensor (P-FAB) for the detection of Rolling Circle Amplification (RCA) products to detect MDR genes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. RCA is used as a nucleic acid amplification strategy for the specific and sensitive detection of DNA samples using the P-FAB platform.
