Abstract

With wide deployment of new mobile network equipment and increasing requirements to network reliability, the destroying events such as power outage or disaster have become a serious threat to the current mobile networks. Such events can at the same time destroy all equipment in a particular land zone and affect network services for a long time. That is why so important to develop disaster-resilient network for future highly survivable communication services. In this paper, we focus on using technologies such as Software Defined Networking and Network Function Virtualization to minimize equipment failure risks and propose protection approach for fast recovery of network nodes after disaster happens.
