Abstract

The researcher in this study is privileged by being an employee at Aljazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) since 2012. Established in 2006as an institution affiliated with Aljazeera Channel, Aljazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) conducts in-depth analysis of affairs focusing on geo-politics and strategic developments in the MENA region. From the expertise of the researcher, and from his capacity as an employee at AJCS, the researcher has noticed that individuals working in the terrain of journalism, newsrooms and broadcasting studios are generally at odds with ideas or concepts produced by theorists or academics. They even oppose the idea itself which implies that a think-tank affiliated with a media channel could make any difference or improvement in their routine performance. Hence, this study is an attempt by the researcher to encompass the genuine challenges which face the think-tanks that are affiliated with a news channel, in this case Aljazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS), which is operating under the umbrella of Aljazeera Channel.
