Abstract

A differentially fed rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is studied using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The fundamental TEm mode of the rectangular DRA is excited at 2.4 GHz, with a 10-dB differential impedance bandwidth (|Sdd11| < -10 dB) of ~ 10.4%. To verify the theory, measurements were carried out, and reasonable agreement between theory and experiment is obtained.
