Abstract
Both consumer demand and network connectivity options determine what kind of energy system is required for a consumer. The construction of a decentralized energy system can have technical and economic reasons. It may be a technical reason that the consumer requires that are not available by connecting to a wired network. If a consumer decides to install his own power generating unit and becomes a “prosumer”, a preliminary technical and economic analysis of it is necessary. The design of the system, as well as the most optimal operating strategy for the system, must be determined during the technical examination. During my research, a simple unit cost analysis of a cogeneration system was performed. The aim of the research is to determine the costs of both electricity and heat production, and then to draw economic conclusions in comparison with the fixed tariffs. In the course of the examinations, I also discuss the role of the investment and operating costs of the unit costs. Possible economic planning principles are determined for combined heat and power gas engine unit.
