Abstract

The latest results of ongoing research directed toward the classification and mapping of the microclimates in the Lake Baykal basin and surrounding mountainous areas are presented. Fifteen types of climate were identified within the Baykal mountain-basin system on the basis of an analysis of the air temperature and precipitation regimes and the degree of winter snowiness, and mapped at relatively large scale.
