In normal driving of an automobile on roads we are utilizing the power assistance for steering only about 15 to 20% of the time in comparison with full running time of the automobile. But the power steering pump which is drawing the power for running (with the same speed) as it is connected with the engine. To utilize the power whenever required, the pressure detecting device which is connected with the line of power steering pump gives signal to the electronic unit to act according to the system demand. This energy saver is device restricts the power drawing from the engine whenever it is nor required and connects whenever it is not required and connects whenever it is required. This in turn reduces the fuel consumption of the vehicle to certain extent as we are not drawing power from the engine for running the power steering pump. This energy saver operates in connection with the pressure to be maintained in the system which is required for the elimination of the fatigue of the driver while steering.
