Abstract
Photovoltaic based power system is gaining immense popularity in microgrid. However, it usually operates on a low operating voltage level and possess a non-uniform nature. Hence, for these reasons a boost circuit is required to boost DC voltage levels and a battery source to support the system in the absence of source power. This paper proposed a DC-DC Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Buck/Boost converter with two input sources; one solar power input along with a secondary battery input. Converter also supports two outputs; one fixed voltage output along with a secondary bidirectional port specialized for charging and discharging of Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). Converter is examined in boost mode when battery is discharging and the buck mode while the battery is being charged. The converter supports multiple sources and bidirectional power flow potential. A 115W converter is simulated using Simulink to affirm our theoretical results and further operational scrutiny of the circuit.
