Abstract

In this paper, a PVDF planar hydrophone based on low-density composite backing is proposed. Based on the theoretical modeling of PVDF planar hydrophone with multi-layer composite as backing, the effects of laying order, laying direction and laying thickness of multi-layer composite on the response of hydrophone are analyzed. The modeling method of multi-layer composite materials is given. In addition, the receiving performance of PVDF hydrophone with metal backing and composite backing is compared and analyzed.
