The plant was collected from the traditional market in Omdurman. Prepared ethanolic extract of leaves were used to evaluate the phytochemical screening to detect the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, phenol, saponins, carbohydrate,cumarins and absence of anthraquinones and triterpenes. Abstract

Guiera senegalensis generally occurs as a shrub or a small tree which belongs to the Combretaceae family and locally named in Sudan as “Gabeish”.
